BRIEF: Steel beam thrown from overpass in Lynnwood hits car on I-5

LYNNWOOD, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – State Patrol troopers are investigating after a large steel beam was thrown from on overpass onto the highway in Lynnwood.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) says the incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at the overpass on 164th St. SW over northbound I-5.

An unidentified male pedestrian was seen throwing a 51-inch steel beam that crashed through the front windshield of a black Acura SUV and landed in the front passenger area. A minor injury was reported.

Troopers are actively working to locate the suspect.
