BRIEF: Man killed after being struck by train in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man was killed after being struck by a train in Bellingham.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says that the 61-year-old man was standing on a rail near Harris Avenue on August 6.

A BNSF train heading north struck and killed him near the crossing around 10:30 p.m. The train stopped and BNSF Police was contacted.

Murphy adds that the man was leaning against a wheelchair at the time of the accident.
