BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Recent instances of cross-border smuggling have led to increased patrols in Blaine.

US Customs and Border Protection says that Canadians looking to enter parts of Peace Arch Park will have to do so by entering through the Canadian Provincial Park.

Entry through Zero Ave. in British Columbia is no longer allowed. If Canadian residents choose to continue into the US side of Peace Arch Park, they must do so through a designated border crossing point.

Public Affairs Specialist Jason Givens says that border patrol has seen a spike in illegal border crossings from Canada into the US since 2022.
