BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Whatcom Transportation Authority is stopping all bus service as of noon.
WTA says that bus routes are becoming unsafe for buses and other vehicles.
Spokesperson Maureen McCarthy adds that several buses have become disabled due to the snow and slick roads.
Drivers will attempt to return passengers to their homes if they left by bus this morning.
Anyone who is not on the bus to their original destination should call WTA at 360-676-7433.
Meanwhile, the Whatcom County Sheriff is urging everyone to stay off the roads.
Travel conditions are not expected to improve anytime soon.
WSDOT reports that Highway 20 near Anacortes is closed down.
Multiple collisions are blocking the highway near Deception Road.
