Border agent-involved shooting in Blaine, investigation underway

BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A shooting in Blaine involving U.S. Customs and Border Protection sent a suspect to the hospital.

FBI Seattle said that the incident occurred this morning on the corner of Fourth Street and A Street, which is roughly 350 feet away from the U.S.-Canada border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents were involved in the incident, but none of them were injured.

An unidentified suspect was injured during the incident and was taken to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

Investigators later recovered a firearm from the area.

Blaine Police add that there is no threat to the public at this time and are asking for patience as the investigation continues.
