He was flown to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

His passenger was a Sedro-Woolley woman, who was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the speeding car, identified as a 24-year-old Mount Vernon man, showed signs of intoxication and was booked into Skagit County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular assault.

He suffered only minor injuries.

His passenger was also flown to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
