WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – This weekend is shaping up to be a warm one.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Seattle say that our region will be experiencing some above-average temps throughout this weekend into next week.

That includes an 50% chance of topping and surpassing 80 degrees in Bellingham by Sunday afternoon.

The chance grows on Monday afternoon that we will see those temps above 80 degrees.

Heat risk concerns are worse further south, where forecasters are warning of an elevated fire danger risk.

Remember to not leave people or animals in hot cars and our local water bodies will have still cold temps if you do decide to recreate aquatically.
