Authorities identify human remains found near I-5 in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Authorities have identified human remains that were found near I-5 in Bellingham over the summer.

Whatcom County Medical Examiner Dr. Aldo Fusaro says the remains were those of 43-year-old Justin Howard.

Fusaro adds that the cause and manner of death are unclear, as well as what area Howard is from.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that skeletal remains had been found near the off-ramp of I-5 SB onto Lakeway Drive on June 17.

According to Fusaro, Howard’s remains were ultimately identified through a DNA test.
