BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Anti-Semitic incidents spiked in the Pacific Northwest long before the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The Anti-Defamation League released its annual nationwide audit of those incidents earlier this week.

In 2023, 190 antisemitic incidents were reported in Washington, up from just 66 in 2022.

Three of those occurred in the city of Bellingham.

In one instance, the ADL says a person held an antisemitic sign on Western Washington University’s campus in December, then physically and verbally confronted a Jewish student.

Across the U.S., reports of antisemitic incidents reached an all-time high of over 8,800.
