BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Dozens of workers in Bellingham are being let go in the wake of a tech company’s upcoming closure of a local branch.

Alpha Technologies Services Inc. informed the Washington State Employment Security Department that they’re permanently closing their operations unit near Bellingham International Airport on Oct. 15.

As a result, they will be laying off 75 workers, starting on Aug. 31 and continuing through the closure.

Employees who work outside the operations unit will be relocated, while some in operations have the opportunity to transfer to another location.

The company was launched in 1975 and provides power systems to broadband and renewable energy networks worldwide.

Bellingham is one of three Alpha Technologies locations in the U.S.

The company has not responded to My Bellingham Now for comment.
