OLYMPIA, Wash. — More than 200 new laws take effect in Washington on Thursday, including a package of bills meant to address sexual misconduct at the workplace.
Women’s issues figure prominently in the new laws, including one that modifies the state’s Equal Pay Act to reduce the wage gap, and another that addresses the number of missing Native American women in the state.
The state’s net neutrality rules preventing internet providers from blocking content or interfering with online traffic go into effect June 11th, when the Obama-era regulations expire. Rep. Kristine Lytton (D) of the 40th Legislative District was a cosponsor of the bill.
