BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Whatcom County man is being held on suspicion of 1st Degree murder in the death of a young Sedro-Woolley woman at a county park Saturday morning.
Chief Whatcom County Deputy Kevin Hester reports that 21-year-old Darian D. Sather and two friends met several other people at South Fork County Park in Acme between 6 and 7 a.m.
One of those people tried to steal $250 from her and she grabbed onto their truck as they drove away.
She was run over and killed and two people walking their dog found her body about an hour later.
An investigation identified 47-year-old Brent S. Gerber as the person who was driving the truck and deputies arrested him early yesterday (Monday) in Blaine.
The Sheriff’s Office is looking for another suspect identified as 25-year-old Payton T. Mulryan.
Mulryan is described as white, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, brown hair and blue eyes. Hangs out in Lynden, Everson and Bellingham.
