FERNDALE, Wash – A father and son working on a pickup truck just north of Ferndale ended up in the hospital.

It happened Wednesday evening on Atwood Road.

District Seven Assistant Chief Larry Hoffman says there was some sort of a fuel leak.

Something ignited it and the two men suffered burns to their face and hands.

They were taken to Saint Joseph hospital initially, but one had to be transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
