TACOMA, Wash. — Pierce County isn’t filing charges against the owner of several pit bulls that viciously attacked a UPS driver last year.

KOMO reports Kevin Backlund, who suffered multiple bites including one that tore through muscle down to the bone, is personally suing the owners.

The County Prosecutor’s office says they couldn’t find any prior complaints against the dogs, which are needed to file charges.

First responders say they had to ram through a gate on the property to save Backlund from at least four pit bulls after a woman there refused to let them on the property.
