Telegraph Rite Aid set to close

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Rite Aid on Telegraph Road is closing next week, making it the second location in Bellingham to cease operations this month.

A sign posted on the store’s door says it will close next Wednesday, September 20.

That follows the closure of the downtown Bellingham Rite Aid earlier this week.

Several news outlets have reported that Rite Aid is preparing to file for bankruptcy.

The company has been struggling amid several lawsuits implicating them in the opioid crisis and a sharp drop in its stock over the past year.

Three Rite Aid locations are left in Bellingham on Sunset Drive, Northwest Avenue and Sehome Village.

Rite Aid said customer prescriptions at their Telegraph location will be automatically sent to their store on Sunset Drive.
