BELLINGHAM, Wash. — With the start of October comes the launch of the Socktober campaign.

People’s Bank is collecting donations of new socks for the homeless at its branches across the state in October.

Here in Whatcom County, People’s Bank chose nine local non-profits where it will gift the socks to be distributed to those in need.

Last year, Socktober brought in more than 7,000 pairs of socks across Washington, and this year the goal is 10,000.

You may donate new socks in person at one of the local donation locations.

People’s Bank will also donate a pair of socks on your behalf at no cost to you by completing the form on the Socktober website.
