BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Sedro-Woolley woman has been arrested for embezzling over a million dollars from a popular Bellingham hardware store.
Bellingham Police started an investigation in August 2022 after receiving a report of embezzlement and theft from the manager and owner of Hardware Sales.
44-year-old Amy D. Siniscarco is reported to have stolen money from the business over several years while she was employed there.
An investigation showed that in total she embezzled over $1.4 million between 2017 and 2022.
She allegedly used forged checks, mortgage direct payments, credit card fraud and petty cash theft to steal from the business.
Siniscarco turned herself in on Monday, January 2nd, and was booked into the Whatcom County Jail for seven counts of theft first degree, five counts of identity theft, and 13 counts of forgery.
