FORT WORTH, Texas — Pier 1 Imports is the latest large retailer to declare bankruptcy.

The Bellingham store is not on the company’s closure list as it restructures.

The furniture and home decor company is closing hundreds of locations nationwide in an effort to cut costs and align their business with the current operating environment.

The Pier 1 in Everett near the mall as well as locations in Redmond, Seattle, Tacoma, and Federal Way are slated to close.

The company is also closing all Canadian stores.
