LYNDEN, Wash. – The Nooksack Tribe’s Northwood Casino is open again because of a deal between the tribe and feds.

The tribe’s ongoing troubles related to the disenrollment of around 300 members known as the ‘Nooksack 306’ forced the closure of the Lynden-area casino.

The tribe reached an agreement with the federal government that calls for tribal elections in the fall.

The disenrolled members will be allowed to vote in the election, resolving a longstanding dispute.

The tribe is also getting its federal funding back.

The casino on Northwood Road is open on a limited basis.
