BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Glassybaby is coming to Bellingham.
Company founder Lee Rhodes told her story to KREM TV.
“The second thing you learn how to do in glassblowing is open up a piece of glass. My husband brought it home, and I just happened to drop a tea-light in this little colorful object, and it lit up in a magical way.
And everyone that went through this experience with me was touched by the healing light of it, and they wanted them.
So we went from my house to my garage, to now we have an enormous team of glassblowers who work for us in Seattle.”
You can buy the hand-blown glass votives and drinkers Friday at Spruce Stationary & Design on Cornwall Avenue.
10 percent of the proceeds go to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
Seattle-based Glassbaby’s tagline is “one of a kindness.”
The company donates money from all sales to charities.
