Ecology seeks comments on plan to clean up contamination in Blaine


BLAINE, Wash. — The Department of Ecology is moving forward with plans to clean up contamination at the Blaine Harbor.

Contamination resulting from past petroleum storage and fish oil processing operations at Sea K Fish is at potentially harmful levels.

The agency will take comments on the plan for the next 30 days and they expect to begin the cleanup process in 2022.

Bellingham-based nonprofit RE Sources has created a virtual tour of the site with more information on how to make your voice heard.
