BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Deputies have arrested a woman who they believe may have murdered a man who was found dead in a Blaine park last week.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office reports the body of Thomas Flood was found along Semiahmoo Parkway on April 7th.

Investigators were able to track down security photos of a person driving Flood’s van that day and asked the community to help identify them.

Deputies developed probable cause to arrest 62-year-old Lynda Clare Mercy of Bellingham on suspicion of second degree murder.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is still very active and they’re not releasing details of a possible motive or relationship between the suspect and victim.
