BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The old Aloha Motel site on Samish Way has a new owner.

The City of Bellingham sold the property to the Bellingham Housing Authority.

The City condemned the motel in 2015 because of constant crime and the demolished the building.

It’s now described as the Samish Way Urban Village.

The Housing Authority plans build about 150 apartments for a range of incomes, spaces for stores, and new headquarters for itself.
