SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — Amazon is introducing new palm recognition technology.
Customers who use it can choose to flash a palm for entry and to buy goods
So far it has been introduced in a couple of stores near Amazon’s campus in Seattle and the company sees broader uses in places like stadiums and offices.
An Amazon spokesperson says the company chose palm recognition because it’s more private than other biometric technology.
The tech could be implemented in Whole Foods locations in the coming months.
