As the watch for Asian Giant Hornets continue, the State Department of Agriculture is asking for assistance in monitoring their presence in Whatcom County.
The WSDA is looking for County residents to allow Asian Giant Hornet traps on their property in more remote areas, especially in the area north of Lynden.
The agency has created a grid broken into 1-by-1 kilometer squares, each labelled with the number a traps in the area.
However, some critical areas for detecting the hornets are without traps.
Other Whatcom County areas needing more traps include east Blaine and Bich Bay, Bellingham, Everson, and Sumas.
