Senior Spotlight Contest Rules

Listeners can enter by going to any of Pacific Northwest Media Group’s radio station  websites (KISM.COM, KAFE.COM, KPUG1170.COM, 989KBAY.COM, KGMI.COM) by completing the entry form and submitting a photo of someone they know who is graduating high school this year with the class of 2025.  Submissions will be accepted between 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 21st , 2025 through 8 a.m. Monday, June 16th, 2025.  One photo per week will be randomly chosen from all entries received and the graduate in the photo will receive a $500 scholarship in the form of a check. The first winner will be chosen on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in the 8 a.m. hour.   After that, winners will be chosen every Monday between June 2nd, 2025 and June 16th, 2025  – all in the 8 a.m. hour. The entrant will not win the prize unless they are a graduating senior who submits a photo of themselves or is a friend or family member of the person that submitted the photo of them. Listeners can submit as many photos as they like, but only one photo may be entered for each graduating senior. Any graduating senior who has more than one photo submitted will have all but one entry removed before each drawing. If there is more than one person in a photo, the photo will be disqualified from winning any of the $500 scholarships.

Each winner will receive a $500 ‘scholarship’ in the form of a $500 check written by PNW Media Group.  The scholarship will be funded by our 2025 Senior Spotlight sponsors:  Curt Maberry Farm, Lorraine’s Window Coverings, D&D Insurance and Westside Building Supply.  A total of $2000 will be awarded to 4 different winners.

Each winner will be drawn randomly from all approved submissions entered in all photo albums on all five-radio station’s website. Once a winner has been drawn for that week, that winner cannot win again during the rest of the contest. A staff member from Pacific Northwest Media Group will contact each winner May 28th, June 2, June 9, and June 16th. No purchase necessary.  In the event a selected winner does not respond within 24 hours of notification, an alternate winner will be chosen.

Pacific Northwest Media Group contests are open to all eligible Washington state residents, age 17 or older, that have not won anything on Pacific Northwest Media Group in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of Pacific Northwest Media Group, Saga Broadcasting, LLC dba Pacific Northwest Media Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the Pacific Northwest Media Group’s main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

Images submitted must be owned by the person or family submitting the entry. No one else may have, or can claim, legal rights to the image. If there is a “minor” (a child or person under the age of 18) in this image, the entrant must certify that he or she is the parent or legal guardian of the minor (child or children) in the image. Any misrepresentation of ownership of the submitted image, or legal guardianship of the minor in the submitted image (if any), will be grounds for disqualification of the contest and potentially all future contests or promotions with Pacific Northwest Media Group. Entries containing inappropriate images will be disqualified. Pacific Northwest Media Group has final say of what content is appropriate for the website and has absolute discretion over the eligibility of an image entry. No indecent or obscene material, no content or material that is illegal, no material containing nudity or is sexually explicit, or by law, obscene profane or pornographic is permitted. By entering this contest, you are verifying that you are the owner and producer of the submitted material and that no third-party ownership rights exist to the image. If the image contains people, by submitting such image you agree to have the rights necessary to consent or submit on behalf of those in the image.

We will make reasonable efforts to award prizes within 30 days.
