I’m an advocate of buying everything on sale and/or the cheapest option available. I’m not brand loyal, I’m price loyal. And I would argue that, in most situations, trying to find the most inexpensive product is best. BUT–there are certain products that being cheap might cost you MORE. A few of those items include:
- Cookware. The cheaper stuff works…just not as well. And when you’re trying to make the most of your food budget, you wanna make sure your cookware is performing at its peak. Expensive pots don’t seem worth it, but they’ll last A LOT longer and give you a better dining experience.
- Car maintenance. It’s kinda like health care–preventative care is cheaper than the ER. Cars break down a lot earlier if you don’t take care of them. Save thousands in the long run and give your ride the best resale value by keeping up on annual maintenance.
- Energy efficiency upgrades. High quality windows and modern appliances can be a budget buster! And it’s tough to think of shelling out that much money at once. But investing in these items usually pays for itself in the long run and last a lot longer then more budget friendly models.
