Nobody likes stale bread. Did you know the color of the plastic tag can help make sure the loaf you buy is fresh?
According to “Reader’s Digest”, the color of the tag on the bread bag tells you what day of the week it was baked.
Bakeries traditionally have Wednesdays and Sundays off. So, there are only five colors:
Monday: Blue
Tuesday: Green
Thursday: Red
Friday: White
Saturday: Yellow
And those colors are in alphabetical order, which makes it easier to remember.
Of course, this isn’t guaranteed to be the system your supermarket or bakery uses, but it’s the standard used by most large chain stores, and some smaller stores too.
