School’s out for the summer and Patrice, like many parents, is attempting to create some structure for her kids’ daily routines. The rules on devices and screen time are still be established. We’ll update when we have them.

Here is her working first draft of the rules:

Welcome to Summer – The Daily List

Listen to the Audio Version:

Morning: Latest wakeup 10am

• Eat breakfast
• Rinse and load breakfast dishes
• Get dressed
• Brush teeth and Wash face
• Make bed
• Feed the dogs
• Walk the dogs
• Practice a sport for 60 minutes
  o Write a goal of something you want to accomplish in that sport this summer.
  o Write how you are going to achieve the goal.
  o Write how you are going to measure it.
• Read 30 minutes

Helpful Habits:

• Drink ½ your body weight in oz of water each day
• Think ahead for the day. If you have practice tonight, are your clothes clean?
• If you dirty a dish, put it in the dishwasher or hand wash it.
• If you load the dishwasher and it is full, start it.
• Do one of your Sunday Chores daily. Then we can do Sunday Funday, instead of Sunday Chore day.
• Find a recipe you want to make for dinner weekly. Before Sunday at 9am, send mom a list of ingredients that you need to make the dinner. Then choose what night that coming week you will make dinner.
• Eat 2 meals and a snack during the day. Set up a time frame for yourself so you’re not grazing all day long.

Rules:

• Quiet time and screens off at 10pm on Weeknights
• If you leave the house, you need to write down on the board where you are going.

Things you can do if to help the household:

• Clean one Lego shelf per day.
