Wanna save a couple hundred bucks a year? Of course you do! Well, stop overdrawing your checking account. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau found that it costs an average of 225 dollars a year in fees when an account is overdrawn. The study found that overdraft fees account for 60-percent or more of the revenue banks make on consumer checking accounts. I never see anyone balance their checkbooks anymore…because not a lot of people use checks. An easy way to keep track? Log into your online banking a time or two a day just to check your balance.
