One section that can really get you into trouble at the grocery store: produce! The sales opportunities in that section can have you buying more than you need. Bundling a bunch of fruit and vegetables together has all the hallmarks of a special deal, but it often merely helps to convince you to buy more products at the same price. Studies have shows that even though consumers can purchase lemons for 20 cents each, they’ll more likely buy 5 for a $1 even though they only needed a couple. Don’t let the two-fers get you and ’10 for 10’s’ get you. Only buy what you need so you don’t end up throwing rotten food out and wasting money!
