The pandemic has people experimenting with frugality. If you find yourself doing stuff like saving glass jars, re-growing food from scraps, using leftovers to make another meal, washing and re-using Ziploc bags, you’re not alone.
Being frugal is all about extending the life of something to prevent buying a new one. For decades we’ve been sold on having ‘stuff.’ And convenience stuff at that. Think K-cups, bottled water, paper plates…even stuff like burner phones. You use it, toss it, and you need a new one! And always buying new stuff messes with your budget. Since the pandemic, we’re looking for ways to maximize the use of our things and extend the life of something as long as possible.
‘Reduce, reuse, recycle’ is not just for the environment—it’s for your budget too! For more tips on reducing waste and saving money, check out the other tips in my Fab Frugal section.
