Have you ever heard of “Hot Lips Salvia?”
Put it on your list of must have plants! Hot lips is a perennial, but the experts at My Garden Nursery recommend growing it like an annual that sometimes comes back. The hummingbirds will love you for planting it. It has an herby scent that the deer don’t seem to like.
Give it full sun and it will bloom now through frost! It has the most adorable red flowers. Each plant will have flowers that are all red, some white and some will be 2 toned! It grows about 2′ x 3′ and can be planted in the ground or containers. Plant some white fragrant alyssum in front to really highlight the red flowers.
