GREEN THUMB THURSDAY: Tropical Plants in the PNW

In December, much of our gardening is done inside the home.  Holiday plants like Poinsettias and Amaryllis take the stage.  But, it’s also a great time to add a tropical houseplant to your collection.

Fragrant Stephanotis, beautiful Orange Clivia, or just a simple Snake plant can add joy and cleaner air to your home.

Winter houseplant care is easier because you can back off on watering and there’s no need to fertilize.  Wait until spring to re-pot.  Provide extra light.  Make sure your plants aren’t too close to fireplaces or a draft.  Dust off the leaves and enjoy!

If you have any plant questions, visit Mr. Dilly Pickles and the experts at My Garden Nursery to help you out!
