This week, the experts at My Garden Nursery want you to know about a couple gardening tools that will make your life easier. Less bending, crawling on your knees or sitting in uncomfortable positions on the ground to weed.
The Hula Hoe
The Hula Hoe is an excellent tool for weeding flowerbeds and clearing areas for veggies or new plantings. It has two sharp blades that pop out weeds when you are pushing or pulling. The D-shaped metal is a bit loose to give it a little play… and that keeps it from breaking like a traditional hoe.
Grampa’s Weeder
Grampa’s Weeder was invented in 1913 in Seattle. Just place the tool over the weed, press, lean, and pull. Out pops the weed…usually with the taproot attached! It can be used in lawns or other areas in your yard.
Three other great tools are the Cuttle Fish Hoe, Hori Hori and the hand Hula Hoe.
