Hi, it’s Jenny from My Garden Nursery!
Here are some quick tips from the experts at My Garden Nursery for your PNW Garden!
Cheryl says, “Keep watering. We may get a little rain, but your plants are still thirsty!” She also recommends adding compost and soil conditioner to your beds. Her favorite is mushroom compost. She swears by it.
Edward says, “Don’t rush to cut back your Echinaceas and other perennials. Those seed heads are like little birdie snack bars and pollinator hangouts all winter long.”
And, here’s a tip from me! Fall is the best time to plant trees and shrubs. The soil is still warm. The rain helps new roots settle in. And, honestly, there’s something fun about planting a tree on a crisp, autumn day that makes you feel like you’re putting down roots for the future.
