Did you know October is a great time to plant trees, shrubs, and hardy perennials? Cool air and warm soil allow roots to establish before hard freezes. Apply a layer of compost or shredded leaves around plants to protect their root systems, taking care to keep mulch away from direct contact with stems or trunks.
We have a great selection of flowering bulbs like tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinths, bearded iris, allium, snowdrops, and more. Add these to your garden now for a magical display of color and texture that will appear from late-winter through spring before your other perennials, shrubs and trees awake from their slumber.
Be sure to visit on October 17th to celebrate our resident felines, Dilly and Dally’s birthday. There are free cat ears to the first 100 people and cupcakes at 1:00pm.
