Hi…it’s Jenny from My Garden Nursery!
Right now is the time to plant Amaryllis and paperwhites to have flowers blooming just in time for the holidays! We know it might feel a little early to think about the holidays, but your bulbs need a head start so they can be ready when you are.
Amaryllis bulbs are easy and impressive, with huge red, white, or pink single or double blooms that appear in about four to six weeks. Plant the bulb so the top third sits above the soil. Water lightly until you see growth and then keep the soil just barely moist. For something a little different, try our Sweater Amaryllis…cute knit patterns and no water needed.
Paperwhites are fast, fragrant, and fun to grow indoors in soil or small white rocks with water. My Garden Nursery also has Hyacinth Forcing Kits, complete with glass vases that let you watch the roots grow before the colorful blooms appear.
Stop by My Garden Nursery to pick up bulbs, kits, and containers today. Make your home, or someone else’s bloom for the holidays. And if you’re not quite ready to think about the holidays yet, there’s still time to plant tulips, daffodils, and crocus for a gorgeous spring surprise.
