GREEN THUMB THURSDAY: Keeping the Deer Away

Hi!  It’s Jenny from My Garden Nursery!  Every day, people ask us, “What do I do about the deer?”

We feel your pain.  Just yesterday, a deer broke through our fence and gave our hedge a haircut!  Are deer snacking on your precious plants?  Here are some plants they don’t love:  Nepeta, Shasta Daisies, and Yarrow for a sunny location.  Hellebores, Bergenia and Brunnera for your shady garden.

Need more tips? The experts at My Garden Nursery can help.  We recommend grey plants or plants with fuzzy, waxy, or thorny leaves to keep the deer away.  And repellents made with egg solids, dried blood, and coyote urine — deer really don’t like those.

Visit the experts at My Garden Nursery for help choosing the perfect plants or finding the best repellents or fencing to keep deer from munching on your perennials, trees and shrubs. Open 7 days a week all year on East Bakerview.
