Bundle up, pour yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate or tea, and go for a walk in your garden! Look for plants that may stress from the cold, containers that are dry, and the last flowers or colorful branches to cut and bring in to make a fall arrangement. And, don’t forget about tomatoes or other veggies that may go to mush.
Take a picture of any plants you are not sure about and bring them into My Garden Nursery for friendly advice. You may be worried about a plant that will be just fine with the cold. Take a look at the frost cloth options while you are there.
A free way to protect your plants is to invert a bucket, container, or box over your plant. If you are like me, you should also gather up the pillows off of the lawn chairs and bring in the tools. Now you can go inside knowing you have prepared your garden for the first chill of the season.
