It’s Edward from My Garden Nursery! February is our Big Berry Bonanza! Whether you’re container gardening on your balcony, or planting the orchard of your dreams, our staff can help you pick the perfect plants to enjoy fresh, homegrown fruit. Right now, we have a great selection of blueberries, apples, peaches, citrus, raspberries, and much, much more!
Two of my favorite berries to grow at home is currants and gooseberries. These underappreciated fruits are very popular in Europe, where they are used in baked goods, flavorings in drinks, or eaten fresh. Not only are they delicious, but they are one of the most forgiving plants you can grow. They don’t flinch, even when faced with the coldest temperatures Whatcom County has to offer. They always bounce back, even if you forget to water them.
Join me for an in-depth seminar on Berry Gardening in the PNW on February 21st. I’ll cover all the tips to grow bountiful blueberries, excellent raspberries, and more. We’ll cover the best varieties, the importance of soil pH, and how to create the perfect growing environment!
