One of the ways you can add sparkle and sunshine to your garden without too much effort is to add a supercool conifer. Now is a great time to plant one … or two … or three. So many of them are super-hardy and, once established, need little care. In fact, many conifers are drought-tolerant and have fantastic shades of blues, reds, golds, and green. The experts at My Garden Nursery can help you find the perfect conifers for your garden!
There are many dwarf varieties that won’t take over your garden, or even a container. Some of our favorites are:
-Types of Hinoki cypress like Fernleaf, which is slow to 12′ tall. And, a shorter one, Butterball, that only gets to a couple feet, but still has a great gold color.
-Abies Ice Breaker grows to 2′-3′ and has a unique bluish-white color.
-Pinus mugo mops will grow into a low-dense dome that remains compact without shearing.
-Carsten Gold mugo pine is a stunner in the winter time!
