It’s Jenny at My Garden Nursery! Clematis is one of the most colorful vines with unique flower shapes ranging in size up to 6″ and in almost every color of the rainbow.
One of the most important things to know about planting clematis is to pick a sunny location and, here’s the important part, to plant something else at the base so that its roots are in the shade. A couple possibilites are lithodora or abelia. Be sure to use a liquid fertilizer like Phos Fish that is low in nitrogen.
