“Two apples that I LOVE are Zestar and Gala. Zestar is a University of Minnesota developed apple, so it is a very cold-hardy, early-season crispy apple with a great mixture of sweet, tart and brown sugar flavor that’s great for both eating and cooking. It also has a long storage life.
Gala also has a nice balance of sweet and tart, making it a great eating, juicing, freezing, baking and on-salads apple. It, too, has a good storage life. While it is a popular storebought apple, nothing beats the freshness of a gala picked right off your own tree. I strongly recommend using root and grow stimulator to get your plants off to the best start!
