Hi, it’s Jenny from My Garden Nursery … and do I have a plant for you!
Achillea, known as yarrow, is one of the most amazing hardy perennials! Flowers come in shades of yellow, orange, pink, white, red, and burgundy. Most will get between 2 and 3 feet high, are drought-tolerant once established and can grow in poor soil.
Blooming large flowers from late-spring to late-summer, some of the varieties will last a couple weeks in a vase, hold their color and are great for cutting, drying and in arrangements. Its feather-like aromatic foliage means both deer and rabbits are not drawn to it. Yarrow is one of the best plants for attracting bees and butterflies into your garden. Plant in a border, cottage or pollinator garden, perennial bed or rockery. Mix with ornamental grasses and lavender! Plant it and sit back and watch the bees and butterflies land on the flat flower poofs that make a nice little table for them to sit on.
