April is when veggie gardens really get going in the Pacific Northwest.  Our cool spring weather is perfect for planting vegetables like broccoli, peas, cabbage, lettuce, kale, and spinach.  These crops LOVE the cooler temperatures and will reward you with an early harvest.

Here’s a quick tip!  If you’re planting peas, give them something to climb right away!  A small trellis, netting, or even a few sticks pushed into the soil helps them grow straighter, healthier, and makes picking those sweet peas easier later on.
