This is Jenny from My Garden Nursery! Last winter, I lost a cherished maple tree and an aucuba I had planted in a container. So, this year, I am going to do a better job of protecting my plants from this new unpredictable Bellingham weather.
Some plants I thought were toast were just slow to recover in the spring. A rose and my red hot poker that finally woke up and did better than ever. So, if you’re like me, these things should be on your list:
1.) Bring tropicals and citrus trees indoors.
2.) Make sure plants not receiving rain are watered.
3.) Use something like frost cloth to cover the most tender plants…and use Wilt Pruf soon to protect and insulate your plants for up to 3 months.
4.) Mulch.
If you have any questions about protecting your plants, see the experts at My Garden Nursery.
