This morning’s Feel-Good Moment was about Elli Van Bree, a fifth-grader in Texas. Her brother, Willem, is five and he’s starting school this year.
Willem is also autistic. And Elli is worried that Willem’s classmates might not understand him and won’t treat him well.
So, she made a video to send to Willem’s teacher, so the whole class can see how awesome his is, even though he’s different.
Elli explains that Willem communicates using a tablet instead of talking… and that sometimes new kids, or loud places, scare him because his ears and eyes are extra sensitive.
Elli’s proud mom posted the video her daughter made… and it has almost 8 thousand views so far. And the school says they won’t just play it in Willem’s class. They’ll play it for the whole school.
