Part of getting a good deal is making sure it’s a good product. The federal government launched a website that makes it easier for consumers to find recalls and file complaints. SaferProducts.gov was developed after many children’s toys made in China were found to contain lead. It offers a search engine for recalls, so it’s easier to find out if a product has been removed from store shelves because of safety issues. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the website contains a comprehensive list of all recalls, something that has not been available before. It also offers a place where consumers can file complaints about products.
