Today’s Feel-Good Moment comes from a second grader in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Listen to the story here.
Amiah Van Hill has made a goal. She wants to raise enough money to pay off the school lunch debt in her school district. That’s the balance that kids owe for lunches they didn’t have the money to pay for.
So, Amiah started what she calls, “Lemonade 4 Lunch.” She opened her own lemonade stand and raised about 40 bucks. That was enough to pay the lunch debt at three local schools.
Amiah has a new goal now. She wants to completely pay off the entire lunch debt of her school district. And that’s gonna take more than just a lemonade stand, because her new goal is 23-thousand dollars.
So she and her mom have started a Go-Fund-Me page and have already raised about 45-hundred bucks.
She’s also encouraging other kids to open their own lemonade stands and help kids in their own school districts.
Well, you’ve warmed our hearts too, Amiah. We’ll put the link to you Go-Fund-Me page in the Dave and Mandy blog at KAFE dot com.
And we declare you our Feel-Good Moment of the Day… on KAFE 104.1
